Rights Respecting Schools Gold Award!

12th October 2026

St Stephens are GOLD!

We are absolutely delighted to share that one of our schools, St Stephens’ Gold banner and certificate have arrived, officially confirming St Stephens as a UNICEF Gold Rights Respecting School once again.

This is a reaccreditation, which means they have been assessed again and have maintained their high standard.
Gold is the highest level of the award, and it recognises that children's rights are woven into everything they do.
It means the children know their rights under the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, understand that every child everywhere has the same rights, and show respect for others through the way they learn, play and treat one another. It shows in the classrooms, in the assemblies, and in the kindness and confidence of the children every single day.

Exec Head, Maura Furber , said “This achievement belongs to our whole community. To our children, who live and champion their rights with such pride, thank you. To our dedicated staff, who nurture this culture daily, thank you. And to our wonderful families, governors and community partners, whose support makes all the difference, thank you.

When one of us shines, we all shine, and today we are shining brightly. “

Congratulations to everyone at Team St Stephens Community Academy.
